UUSA Now Accepting Scholarship Applications

06 March 2023

UUSA is a proud supporter of local students pursing higher education and is now accepting applications for five (5), $1000 UUSA Community Scholarships. The focus of the 2023 UUSA Community Scholarship essay is “Everyone Belongs to a Community” and invites students to share how they are making a positive impact in our community.

“Supporting local students through educational scholarships is one of many ways we invest in our community and help ensure a sustainable future,” shared Lisa Hardison, UUSA’s Manager of Communications and Public Relations. “UUSA has been offering scholarships to students in the local community since 2009. We’re proud to continue the tradition of investing in education and provide funding that helps families in our local area.”

Eligible applicants must live in Lea County, New Mexico or Andrews County, Texas and should be enrolled (or planning to enroll) in an accredited two-year or four-year college, university or vocational/technical school. In addition, applicants must be seventeen years of age or older when the application is submitted. Applications will be accepted until Friday, March 31. After the submission deadline has passed, a panel of qualified judges from an independent scholarship company will select and announce the five UUSA Community Scholarship recipients at the beginning of May.
